The wonders of a good night's sleep

Sleep is the time when our body regenerates. It is when our skin rebuilds its collagen, repairs the damages caused by radiation and other harmful environmental effects.
While asleep, our body produces melatonin, which has skin regenerating anti-oxidant properties.
A healthy sleep soothes out our wrinkles, plumps up our skin, softens the creases around our mouth so we are ready to wake up with a fresh and dewy appearance.
When we receive poor sleep, our skin doesn’t retain as much water, causing the skin barrier to weaken and therefore to look and be more vulnerable.
Sleeping on our side or stomach can also lead to the appearance of wrinkles on our face or décolleté, therefore it is recommended to sleep on our back, and always properly clean and hydrate our skin before turning in.
